Powder Skiing Tips.
Ken "Bump" Berman

Don’t lean back!

Instead, bend your ankles while keeping your shins firmly on the front of your boots. A really effective trick is to point your toes up in your boots when you are flexing down in the turn.

Another trick is to keep a little bend in your knees and ankles when rising up to start your turns.

Ski in the fall line more.
The more you turn your skis or board across the hill, the more snow will build up against you. Starting your next turn will be more difficult.

Stay flexed longer in your turns to help push the board deeper in powder to slow down instead. Make quicker turns and stay in the fall line.

Even if the snow is too thick and heavy to turn in easily and you are forced to jump to help start turns, try to stay balanced and keep your weight off of your heels.
