The following are restaurants that I prefer in Mammoth. There are many places to eat, and generally the food keeps getting better. Drop a note if you want to add a comment: Not all of the restaurants in town are listed but you can invite me to dinner and I can add a review on this page.
The Best Cuisine
Chart House
Standard Chart House fare, service and food. Very nice place when you don’t know where to go.

Convict Lake Resort
Upscale and slightly higher priced. Considered one of the finest establishments in California for many years. This restaurant has garnered many awards and press acknowledgements since the 1970’s. Even the local deer frequent the lawns around supper time here too. Cabins, horses and fishing are some of the attractions found here. Ken’s favorite.
The Lakefront Restautant at Tamarack Lodge
Nestled in the Twin Lakes area of Mammoth, this restaurant is small, quiet, rustic and beautiful. A full menu with a good wine selection make this one of the very best romantic spots in Mammoth.

Lulu’s
Located in the Village, this one is so new I haven’t even seen a menu but I hear it’s pricey and the food is priced steeply. A friend said that the menu is family friendly but again, pricey.
Mogul Steak House
A unique restaurant where your waiter is also your chef. A local favorite with a cozy full service bar, small excellent salad bar, and fresh fish and steak. Good sundaes and deserts.
Families are welcome.
The Mono Inn
Located on Highway 395, 4 miles north of Lee Vining. It's worth the trip!
This elegant restaurant is beautifully decorated in Mission Style. It enjoys spectacular views of Mono Lake. Try to catch the full moon! May through December experience the Ansel Adams Gallery.

Nevado’s
Continental Cuisine and delicate dishes are featured here. A place for many good drinks and great wines. The Prix Fixe menu offers a wonderful variety of appetizers, entrees and deserts.

The Looney Bean
Located on Main Street this local's hangout roasts their coffee beans right on site! Indoor and outdoor seating as well as "goodies" available.
World Cup Coffee Company
You'll find this locally owned coffee house right on Old Mammoth Road by the Police Station and Sierra Design Studio. It offers a relaxing ambiance with great coffee, indoor and outdoor seating, bakery goods and gift items
Good Restaurants
Angels A mainstay for families here in town. Ribs, Chicken, sandwiches and specials of the day. Good fish and chips too.

Base Camp Cafe
A local favorite, this cafe is the place to go for quality food and friendly service. The cafe serves superb made-to-order sandwiches, homemade soups, and 100% organic coffee and teas, as well as a fine selection of draft beers from Mammoth Brewing Company and other featured breweries. Daily soup, salad and sandwich specials.
Gomez’s
More great Mexican food. A small full service bar and Happy Hour too. Very thick fresh salsa and guacamole! Try the chile verde or the chili rellenos (they’re even better the second day as leftovers).

Side Door Café
Another new addition to the Village, the Side Door offers an eclectic collection of wines and crepes’. Did I say crepe’s, I meant to say "The Best Crepe’s". Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Will’s favorite. They are open until midnight most nights for a great snack and bottle of wine.
Slocums Grill
The menu at this steakhouse and grill includes house-smoked ribs and prime rib, wood fired meats and fish, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. A Cheers-style bar is also at the restaurant and it serves wonderful drinks and appetizers.

Thai’d Up
A personal recommendation for this one. My friend Mike owns’ it. They went to Thailand and studied at a Thai Cooking School there in order to bring the best to you here! Dine-in or Take-out, "healthy, delicious and affordable. Home delivery, tasty and fresh, served with personal and friendly service.
The Yodler Located next to the Adventure Center.at Mammoth Mountain
The sundeck is perfect for refueling with burgers and fish tacos! Infamous Apres' ski bar at Mammoth Mountian. Indoor and outdoor bar. Breakfast starts at 8am. Lunch 10am to 3pm daily with appetizers and drinks until 5pm.

Originally started as the Good Stuff Café, It later sold to a local and was renamed. Prides itself on healthful breakfasts and lunches. Great omelets, French toast and fish for breakfast. Vegetarian dishes are available. Also serves great lunches.

A Danish bakery with fresh pastries, cakes, Gellato, and fresh squeezed orange juice. World Famous for their Sheepherder’s Bread. Good sandwiches for lunch. Casey loves this place.

No seriously… They have a really good breakfast steak sandwich that rivals anyone’s breakfast sandwiches. We like ours with black pepper and avocado.

The oldest locals favorite, a great bar and a full Japanese menu and Sushi that is delivered fresh by air. Friendly but sometimes slow service.

Burgers Burger’s
Since 1972 and started by the legendary ski instructor Gary Berger, Bergers’ is renowned for it’s Buffalo Burger, fries and killer milk shakes. Ask for fries with seasoning and bar-b-que sauce on the side. Now owned by Ed Hurley of Ocean Harvest fame.
Grumpy's
The only true sports bar and restaurant in the Eastern Sierra, this full service sports place has over 40 TV screens, pool tables, and arcade games, as well as a Mexican-American menu and drink specials.

New in the village and near the bottom of the village gondola Hennesy’s has a Tuesday 2 for 1 burger special and breakfast special that is unbeatable. The Monday Night Football Special is one of Mammoth's best deals for dinner. 12 oz. Sirloin and a beer for $10.00.
Nightlife
Whiskey Creek
Home brewed beer and good food. Steaks , fish and pasta and a full bar. Many local restaurants serve the brews from Whiskey Creek. They have a good Happy Hour with a 1/2 price dinner menu and free pool. Some evenings there are bands and comedy shows. Watch out for the crazies on Wednesday nights.

Laka Nuki
An early addition to the village, this place has become one of THE places to make an appearance. Theme parties and pole dancing keep the kids hopping and the cops on their toes. One of the surviving 'new' nightclubs in Mammoth.

Whoa Nellie Deli
Wow, Located near Highway 395 at the gateway to Toulome Meadows in Yosemite National Park, this is fantastic food...I just love the blue corn lobster taquitos and the pizza. Yes, it is in a gas station but give it a try. The Mobile Mini Mart at Lee Vining. Open in summer only.
Mono Cone
Located in Lee Vining, they have the standard ice cream favorites, and the best Pastrami in the county. Open in summer only.
The Barn
Located in Bridgeport, the breakfast and lunch burritos are the best! 6 different salsas and guacamoles are made fresh. A mess while driving but only the highest quality ingredients are used.
Carson Peak Inn
Fine Dining in June Lake, This is a top flight restaurant recommended by Elana as the best food. Steaks, fish, etc…
Yamatani’s
New to Bishop, this is a Japanese/sushi restaurant opened by the same owner as Shogun in Mammoth. Same quality and similar menus. Closed on Wednesdays.
Taco Bell
Well, we like it, and for those who live in Mammoth, it’s is the best fast food available from Mammoth to Los Angeles. Located on Hwy. 395 in Bishop.
